TOWN OF ALMA BOARD MEETING MINUTES

October 15, 2025

All Board members present:
Meeting called to order by Chairman Flick at 7:00 PM.
Minutes from September 17, 2025 were read into the record. Motion by Tom Gearing, second by Mat Murray to
approve the minutes as read. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s report: Current balance $230,683.39 less $86,000.00 reserved for equipment, 5,450 building reserve for a
cash on hand balance of $139,233.39. Motion by Murray, second by Gearing to approve report. Motion carried.
Motion by Gearing, second by Murray to authorize payments for the month. Motion carried.
Citizen comments: Bill Laurent shared update on jail plans. Committee voted 3/3 to maintain existing jail. Also shared
Highway Department plans to pursue new $40 million new shop and office by the current cold storage structure on Hwy
54 south of Black River Falls.

  1. Road report- Fahrner work has been completed. Scott addressed culvert dips on Prindle and Old 95 roads. They also
    completed work on Avon Road. WISLR pavement rating completed by Dan Roskos and reviewed by Chairman.
  2. Timber Harvest-Harvest completed with payment received for timber. Some additional funds coming when all final.
  3. Motion by Flick, second by Murray to approve Resolution 2025-02 regarding ATV/UTV use in the Merrillan Village
    limits connecting to the Town of Alma on US Hwy 12 and State Hwy 95. Roll call: Flick –yes, Murray –yes, Gearing-
    yes. Motion carried.
  4. Trip application-Dunlap Road, Option 1-Grind and double chip seal. Cost 246,100 with our share between 30-60,000.
    Option 2 Disciplinary $390,100 Hot mix 2 ½ inches 50% aided. Option 3 $390,000 with 90% aided.
  5. Motion by Gearing, second by Murray to adjourn. Adjourned at 7:58 PM.
