TOWN OF ALMA BOARD MEETING MINUTES
May 20, 2026
Board members present: Brian Flick, Tom Gearing, Mathew Murray, Kathy Patterson.
Members absent: Don Forsting
Meeting called to order by Chairman Flick at 7:00 PM.
Minutes from April 15, 2026 were read into the record. Motion by Tom Gearing, second by Matt Murray to approve the minutes as read. Motion carried.
Treasurer’s report: Current balance $294,341.65 less $28600 reserved for equipment, 5,450 building reserve for a cash on hand balance of $260,291.65. Motion by Murray, second by Gearing to approve report. Motion carried.
Motion by Gearing, second by Murray to authorize payments for the month. Motion carried.
Citizen comments: Frank Laufenberg wants to make sure Board is levying enough to be able to maintain roads.
- Road bids: E. Moore Rd-Fahrner $82,761 less Lepke 44097.44 = $38,664.56. Scott $76,992 less Lepke $44097.44= $32894.56. Motion by Murray second by Gearing to approve Scott Construction bid. Motion carried. E. Snow Creek Rd: Struck & Irwin $77,774.50 crack filling, wedge and single chip. Scott Const. $62595.00 wedge and single chip. Fahrner $31,695.00 Motion by Gearing second by Murray to approve Struck & Irwin bid. Motion carried. Misc. wedging projects: Scott Construction 22 loads @ $3,440= $75,680. Motion by Murray second by Gearing to approve Scott Construction bid. Motion carried.
- Junk ordinance-Letters sent-getting some responses. Advised by Attorney Radcliffe to wait until for any further action.
- Merrillan Lions parade route- request to use Hardwood Rd as setup area for parade August 22nd.
- Road name request- New private road request form from County for private road off of West Rd. Board approved Hunter Drive per request.
Next meeting scheduled for June 17, 2026.
Motion by Gearing, second by Murray to adjourn. Adjourned at 8:13 PM.
