TOWN OF ALMA BOARD MEETING MINUTES

May 15, 2019

All Board Members present

Meeting called to order by Chairman Smith at 7:00 PM.

Minutes from April 17, 2019 meeting were read into the record.  Motion by Gearing, second by Flick, to approve minutes as read.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s report:  Current balance $186,938.60 less $81,200.00 reserved for cash on hand balance of 105,738.60.  Motion by Flick, second by Gearing to approve report.  Motion carried.

Motion by Gearing, second by Flick to authorize payments for the month. Motion carried.

Citizen comments

New Business:

  1. WI Proppants air monitoring variance-tabled until DNR approval is received.
  2. Discussion on color options for private driveway signs as they need to be different than road name signs.Motion by Smith second by Gearing to approve Brown with black lettering. Motion carried.

3.   Road bids: Gravel- Milestone 9.85 per ton delivered, 6.05 picked up ¾ base. Opelt 9.90 per ton delivered, 6.00 picked up. 1 ¼ base-Milestone 10.75 delivered, 5.75 picked up. Opelt 9.90 delivered, 6.00 picked up. Motion by Flick, second by Gearing to approve Milestone bid for ¾ base and Opelt for 1 ¼ base. Motion carried.

Chip seal: S Alma Center Rd- Fahrner 3/8” $23142, 7/16 $24358, wedging $44359. Scott Construction 3/8 $18061, 7/16 $20354, wedging $15831.

Castle Hill Road overlay: Scott Construction $51192. Fahrner $77608. Motion by Gearing second by Flick to approve Scott Construction bids on S Alma Center and Castle Hill road projects. Motion carried.

Scott Construction bid on Shoemaker and 500 foot section of S Alma Road. $69687. Motion by Smith, second by Flick to not complete this project due to budget constraints at this time. Motion carried.

Crack filling bid on County Line Road from Scott Construction $949. Motion by Smith second by Gearing to approve. Motion carried.

4. Motion by Gearing second by Flick to adjourn Board of Review until June 20, 2019 from 5-7 PM. Open Book will be held on June 13, 2019 from 1-3 PM. Motion carried.

Motion by Gearing second by Flick to adjourn. Adjourned at 9:07PM.
