TOWN OF ALMA BOARD MEETING MINUTES

March 18, 2026

All Board members present:

Meeting called to order by Chairman Flick at 7:00 PM.

Treasurer’s report:  Current balance $620,153.50 less $28600 reserved for equipment, 5,450 building reserve for a cash on hand balance of $586,103.50.   Motion by Murray, second by Gearing to approve report.  Motion carried.

Motion by Gearing, second by Murray to authorize payments for the month. Motion carried.

  1. Jeffrey Road project-Chairman Flick addressed addendum to the bid request. DNR runoff paperwork completed. Bid opening: 1) Haas Construction- reconditioning only $306,623.38 Bond verified.  2) Mathy Construction-paving only $269,757.13, Bond verified.  3)  BKC Construction-reconditioning only #352,732.77, bond verified. 4) Gerke Excavating- reconditioning only $314,787.50, bond verified. Lepke Trucking & Excavating-reconditioning only $241,049.31, bond verified. Engineer will take care of reviewing all documents and award bids.
  2. Sand Road culvert- Jack from Scott Construction did not look at. Kevin Kamrowski, Jackson County Highway Commissioner will handle paperwork and deal with the DNR.
  3. Forest Road grant program- Kovar Road ½ mile section from State Hwy 95 north to corner: 1 ¼ inch gravel 4 inches thick, 2,640 feet, $10,363. Town share $5,181.50. 860 tons @ 12.05 per ton.
  4. Board set road review date for April 1st at 8 AM with alternate date of April 3rd.
  5. FEMA aid for record snowfall- Paperwork and numbers need to be submitted to the County.
  6. Motion by Gearing, second by Murray to approve Special events venue license fee schedule as follows: $50 Class B Beer, $100 Class B liquor with prorated fee of $60 for months of May and June of 2026. Motion carried.
  7. Clerk will contact Bowmar Appraisal to approve June 3rd, 2026 as Board of Review date from 4-6 PM.

Next meeting scheduled for April 15, 2026.
