TOWN OF ALMA BOARD MEETING MINUTES

January 21, 2026

All Board members present:

Meeting called to order by Chairman Flick at 7:00 PM.

Minutes from December 17, 2025 were read into the record. Motion by Matt Murray, second by Tom Gearing to approve the minutes as read. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s report:  Current balance $598,593.62 less $28600 reserved for equipment, 5,450 building reserve for a cash on hand balance of $564,543.62.   Motion by Gearing, second by Murray to approve report.  Motion carried.

Motion by Murray, second by Gearing to authorize payments for the month. Motion carried.

Citizen comments: Bill Laurent County updates: Shared information on bonding approved for County shop building- $20 million in 2026 and $20 million in 2027. County has completed GIS survey update in high definition. Bill shared his concerns over the legality of the new high definition.

  1. Discussed Railroad Road closure- Brian provided an update on road closure. He spoke with Heather form office of Commissioner of Railroads and she indicated that they had not been informed of the derailment and was sending personnel out to deal with most of the remaining issues.
  2. Board reviewed the updated Junk ordinance prepared by Attorney Mark Radcliffe. Board recommended some language changes that will be shared with Mark and put on the agenda for approval at our February meeting.
  3. Dunlap Road TRIP project-We should hear about the status of our application by February-March. All paperwork has been submitted.
  4. Sand Road culvert replacement discussed.
